Trend Report: White Out

There is a rule which states that white shall not be worn after Labor Day. Yet as we all know rules are made to be broken, especially in fashion. When it comes to expressing yourself and being totally YOU with what you wear, there are no limits. It is simply a matter of deciding what you want, who you are and who you want to be.

Sporting white post-Labor Day was a fashion faux pas that took place with societies elite. It represented more so the type of white, light and airy clothing you would be wearing while summering. Once you returned home it was back to your 'normal' wardrobe. While this rule doesn't hold it's authority anymore it will always be a term we bring up in fashion, and one we love to rebel against.

DelpozoBrock Collection and Jacquemus all showed very architectural pieces while Sally LaPointe and Alberta Ferretti sent delicate, embroidered looks down the catwalk. The majority of Christian Dior's runway reminded me of an elevated fencer. As far as white wedding dresses,  there were plenty of beautiful gowns to choose from, though it was nice to see viable options that strayed from the status quo.  Instead there were many silk jumpsuits and pants-suits that were the perfect crème color for walking down the isle or walking down the street, regardless the time of year.

Here are some options to try wearing all white this Winter:

Cozy up in this robe like sweatshirt from Off-White.

Layer up in this Proenza Schouler sleeveless tunic.

Everyone needs the staple creme coat in their wardrobe like this one from H&M!

Go from day to night in this WhiteHouse|Black Market Jumpsuit...

And make it weather appropriate with this jacket from Topshop...

...or this blazer from Theory.

You can never go wrong with a raw hem pair of white pants like these from M.I.H.
