Whitehaven Beach | Great Barrier Reef

Whitehaven is Australia's most gorgeous oasis, consistently ranked as one of the world's most beautiful beaches. The key to its beauty lays in its remote nature, only accessible by boat or helicopter. It is home to the worlds finest and whitest sand, delicate enough to clean jewelry! And the most surprising part is how it feels under the feet: Cool and firm, even in the beating sun. The sand is made up of 98% silica which mysteriously is not found in any of the surrounding rocks, leading scientists to theorize that sea currents from millions of year ago may be to thank for delivering these pearly micro crystals to the island. A dream to look at, walk on and even rub on your body. From what I heard the swirling colors are caused by fresh water from below mixing with salt water. And when these two unique features of swirls and pristine white sand collide it creates the most ethereal, heavenly setting. You simply cannot take a bad photo of this beach. I've also included some photos of the reef a short helicopter ride straight off the beach. A total sensory overload of beauty.
